In my country Japan people tend to think that disagreeing destroys the harmony of a group, but now I changed my mind. Disagreement is necessary for a better, more constructive discussion

I think that the good disagreement should be learned, because not all people can disagree politely. Some of them won’t listen intently and sometimes they get ill-tempered. It is a bad variant for a productive communication, which leads to broken relationships with a person. Besides, some people, first of all older, put much importance on hierarchy. Very often they persuade somebody who is younger with words like “I know it better than you because I’m older”. I try to avoid any discussing with such stubborn people.

Bad agreement has been a negative thing despite it happens on a regular basis in everywhere. Although civility is labelled as a good thing ,it blocks challenges in life

Being pedantic while making hierarchy reconstruction in an establishment would invite many a contempt due to plethora of dissent from employees but it is necessary to avoid stagnation

The music of the openning and the ending is too loud and is very annoying, is it so difficult to understand this and to change that music? Don't you see, dear friends of BBC Learning, that changes in the volume of the sound are very annoying? Please, rethink that aspect of your videos, I'm not the first one who tell you this. I think that if you change that, all your fans will do a big party celebration. Thanks.

Mentioning Dalai Lama as a positive character is banned in China. And this topic is challenging to the poor traditional Chinese worldview that obedience to higher-ranked officials is necessary.

For me personally, I like these kinds of topics very much.

1/ Being pedantic: focusing too much on small detail or formal rules
    Pedantic (a) -> Pedant (n)

2/ Hierarchy: a way to organize people according to their importance

3/ Contempt (n): be dislike or lack of respect for S.O/ S.th

4/ A point of view: describe S.O respect to S.th

Your point of view may be different from my point of view

    5/ Civility (n): polite behavior

6/ Stagnation (n): staying the same, not be developing
    Stagnate (v); stagnant (a)

Bad disagreement is a battle when people try to take high position in hierarchy. They show their contempt as they think they are more importance than others and they are pedantic. It is not good because every person has different point of view. Therefore, speaking truthfully, listening intently and respecting politely are the effective method to build good relationship as well as having better disagreement.

On the other hand, disagreement is also a good way to improve ourselves and develop society. We should not accept civility for all situations because it will cause stagnation. In order to solve it, justice and expression of thoughts are highly encouraged.

To conclude, disagreement has both pros and cons. All we need is to learn how to make it better

In a society with severe hierarchy, the atmosphere is always stagnation. The leaders sitting on the higher hierarchy show contempt to their juniors, and the points of view from the lower can not be attached importance. However, in a democratic society people give civility to each other.

I guess so. Maybe it's not exactly true.
